Ria, life force of the Riasphere

Ria / Rhe defn. To flow, carve a path, river

Riasphere: enormous dome, moisture levels very high. Womb-like atmosphere.

Beginning as a small cluster of fusion plops, Ria was in search of an expanse where she could freely multiply. Specific conditions were needed for this to occur: a warm and damp atmosphere, saturated with color. To trap the heat, she produced an impenetrable dome with an attached pathway for a small entrance. The dome served as her womb, home to a wide variety of complex organisms (one of which is Gip).

[Fusion Plop: magenta in color, released from Ria’s pores and eyes, acts as a bond between organisms of the sphere. Also allows them to communicate and share resources.]

Gliding through her environment using her spiral tail, Ria occasionally emits a deep, powerful vibration, akin to the hypnotic song of a siren. In doing so, she is able to echolocate her creations. Her skin and multiple exterior stomachs are incredibly porous, which allow her to observe the chemistry of her atmosphere. This also helps her with direction, as the eyes on her face are only there to marvel closely at her inventions.

Ria’s core is molten: she is the source of heat for the sphere. Her pores aid in releasing this heat. They also release fusion plops: the connecting force of the sphere, fusing all organisms into one body. Intelligence is survival, and as a result, Ria’s brain has evolved 8 times the size of her visible body.

Her multichambered exterior stomachs hang delicately around her brain and neck like jewelry, allowing her to properly digest the nutrients she gives life to. The small mouths on each stomach have specialized teeth that grind the substance into a very fine pulp, which is regurgitated multiple times before flowing through the stems connected to her inner heat source.

Ria supports, converts, and carries life. She has existed in this cyclical state for thousands of years, and unless purposely destroyed, will continue to do so forever. This kind of immortality terrifies the Arch-Wef. Ria doesn’t need to control the Riasphere, she is the Riasphere. By inventing the mythical Jazchi, the Arch-We keeps Ria’s existence secret from the Fee-Wefs. Motivated by power, the Arch-Wef cannot have his subjects aware of another force more powerful than him.
